Sorrows are but incidents in life, and must not interrupt us. We must leave them behind, while we press on to the things that are before. God has so ordained that in pressing on in duty for others we shall find the truest, richest comfort for ourselves.
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You(God) will revive me.”-Ps 138:7
When all our hopes are gone and all our dreams are shattered and all our ships have come home with broken sails, we still have Jesus!–And He’s all we need!
When your heart is aching, turn to Jesus,
He’s the dearest Friend that you can know.
You will find Him standing close beside you
Waiting peace and blessing to bestow!
When weary with the strain of it all, you can fly to God on the wings of prayer and faith and get the relief that He alone can give you. “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain you. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”-Ps 55:22
God will never permit any troubles to come upon us unless He has a specific plan by which great blessing can come out of the difficulty.
When things look darkest, don’t look down!–Look up!–Be not fearful, but believing!
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
Should Sorrow lay her hand upon your shoulder,
And walk with you in silence on life’s way,
While Joy, your bright companion once, grown colder,
Becomes to you more distant day by day?
Shrink not from the companionship of Sorrow.
She is the messenger of God to you;
And you wilt thank Him in His great tomorrow-
For what you know not now, you then shall see;
She is God’s angel, clad in weeds of night,
With ‘whom we walk by faith and not by sight.’
