美國密蘇里州堪薩斯城報導－－麥克懷特賀迪 (Michael Whitehead) 把美國中西部浸信會神學院的學生當成是法院「陪審團的先生和女士們」，來向他們提出耶穌復活的證據。懷特賀迪先生是美國中西部浸信會神學院的代理院長，他曾在密蘇里州的堪薩斯城作過25年的律師。
在麥克開始申訴自己的證據之前，他首先解釋了在18世紀中期，哈佛大學的法律教授西門格林力弗(Simon Greenleaf)是如何漸漸地瞭解到，耶穌的復活是真實的。西門著有三冊法律證據原則的專題論文，他是該世紀最主要的律師之一。他對神的存在持不可知論的看法，他認為上帝的存在是沒有確實證據的，直到他的學生們用耶穌的死亡、埋葬、以及復活的證據，向他提出了挑戰。西門接受了這個挑戰，並企圖向他們證明一個簡單的事實：「人死後是不可能復活的！」
