Daniel chapter 8A

WILL THE AC COME FROM EGYPT?
A LITTLE HORN COMES OUT OF THE REMAINS OF ALEXANDER'S EMPIRE.

in about 590 BC, 300 years before it happened, Daniel (Chapter 8), saw that the Macedonian Greek Empire would rise, pictured in his first vision as the brass belly of the image, in his second vision as a 4 headed leopard with 4 wings, but here as a he-goat that "didn't touch the ground", with one horn.

In 333 B.C. Alexander the Great symbolized as a "notable horn", defeated the King of the Medo-Persian Empire symbolized as a "ram with two horns." In just 10 years time Alexander conquered an area stretching from Yugoslavia to India! Certainly fast as a leopard or a goat that didn't touch the ground! When Alexander the Great died, the "one great horn" was broken, and in its place came up four other horns. His empire was divided by his four generals into four kingdoms: Greece, Turkey, Assyria and Egypt!

THE RAM, THE BILLY GOAT & THE 4 NATIONS.
Daniel describes his vision as follows:

3. ...I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4. I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 ...behold, an he goat came from the West on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6 And he came to the ram that had two horns... and ran unto him in the fury of his power. 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and killed the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he threw him down to the ground, and stamped upon him... 8 Therefore the he-goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
9 And out of one of them came forth a LITTLE HORN, which waxed exceeding great, toward the SOUTH, and toward the EAST, and toward the PLEASANT LAND.

For once we don't have to interpret it much, as the interpretation was given by the angel Gabriel himself, whom Jesus ordered to "make this man (Daniel) understand the vision."

15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and searched for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, 'Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.' 17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, 'Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.' 18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19 And he said, 'Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.'

Now Gabriel even names the two empires and kings concerned; of Medo-Persia and Greece!

20 The ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

Secular history reveals that when Alexander the Great—the "great horn"—lay dying, he was asked by his four heads or four horns—his 4 generals: "Who will take over after you?" Alexander answered, "the strongest!" They happened to all be equally strong and so eventually made a deal together to divide the empire into 4 wings, 4 areas, nations that are still in existence today! "Four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power." Greece itself, Turkey, Syria and Egypt! Only they were somewhat bigger at the time of Alexander's generals!

THE LITTLE HORN GROWS BIG FROM ONE OF THE FOUR! EGYPT?

Gabriel says to Daniel, how the little horn became great out of one of these 4 nations—or their former areas—during the last years of their existence!—In the Endtime! "at the TIME OF THE END shall be the vision."
Daniel said,

9 "Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceeding great, toward the south, toward the east and toward the pleasant land."

So, out of one of these 4 former areas of the nations Greece, Turkey, Syria or Egypt, comes the little horn again—the AC! But this time it grows exceeding great! Southward... which, if this is purely geographic, might exclude Greece and Turkey being limited by the sea on the south! And he grows Eastward! Syria and Egypt can grow Eastward overland as far as China, but Egypt can also grow very far Southward...all the way to South Africa! And he grows toward the pleasant land as well... Israel!

For these geographic reasons, Bible scholars figure he might rise from Egypt! He is also later described in Daniel 11, as taking over Israel to set up his palace in Jerusalem, and by Ezekiel as the prince of Russia! So perhaps it means that he is born in Egypt, becomes leader of Russia and grows toward the pleasant land, which he will repeatedly invade, and then from there he grows in all directions!—World-wide! We don't exactly know yet, but we have more clues, to recognize him in the future once he starts growing!

THE ENDTIME STARS AND ARMY OF HEAVEN!
Daniel said:

10 "And it [the little horn--the AC] grew great, even to the host of heaven; and it threw down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them."

Here the AC is described as throwing down some of the "host or army of Heaven" and of "the stars to the ground" and stamping upon them! This could in no way be literal stars—Neither some kind of spiritual army of course! Neither is this speaking about the fleshly Jews of Israel, as so many American, Israel-worshipping Churches seem to believe! This here is talking about God’s people of the Endtime!
By this time, the Lord seems to have made a beginning of his Kingdom on Earth—His Endtime army, (Daniel 2:44) the Saints again, Jesus' Army of God's Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, and some of its "stars", some of God's leaders whom the AC will martyr and "trample under foot." This is again talking about very severe persecution, foretold by Jesus Himself, culminating during the last three and a half years of man's history, during the "Great Tribulation"!

THE DAILY SACRIFICE AND THE SANCTUARY
Gabriel continues his explanation:

11 "Yea, he [the AC] magnified himself, even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an army was given him against the daily sacrifice because of transgression, and it [the little horn] threw down the truth to the ground; and it practised and prospered."
13. Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain [saint] which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14. And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
15. And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and searched for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

At this point, we should explain what the Daily Sacrifice is, and why Orthodox Jews are going to need a new Sanctuary for it!
