One major final sign of the very
end that is yet to be fulfilled and that many prophets predicted,
is the rise of a powerful One
World Government led by a bestial
World dictator who will eventually be fully possessed by Satan himself!--The
Antichrist!
The Bible describes him as a "little
horn "with
eyes & a mouth speaking great things"
that grows up, and as the "son
of perdition"
and the "Beast!"
He will be some kind of superhuman world dictator, with great charisma
and speaking ability. The World will eventuallly turn to this false
Messiah to save them when their
economy
crashes and the threat of nuclear
war forces them to unite in a One World Government! He will come upon
the scene and rise to power on some wave of "world euphoria", when he
will save the world from its desperate economic, military and political
problems with a "brilliant" 7-year agreement or Holy
Covenant for peace in the Middle
East, economic redemption and religious
freedom.
The Bible even gives some clues about his personal characteristics. The
prophet Daniel wrote that the Antichrist "does
not regard the desire of women."--this
may imply that he's either celibate or homosexual--that he will have a
"fierce
countenance"
or stern look, that he will be "more
stout than his fellows"-more
proud and boastful, and that he "understands
dark sentences",
refering to his possessing supernatural powers!--Of witchcraft? Although
he may originally be from Egypt, this Antichrist "King
of the North" seems to rise
to power in Russia by resurrecting this former economic & military
Superpower from the chaos left by the former Soviet Union. The prophet
Ezekiel names him as "Gog"
the ruler of "Magog"
a name that Biblical scholars agree denotes a country or region of peoples
to the North of Israel. Many interpret this to mean modern Russia. His
power base will eventually also include the leading nations of Europe!
After uprooting 3 of its "10
Kings", the Bible says, they
will "give
their power and strength unto the beast."
At first the Antichrist
will be received as a great hero, the saviour
of the World, "the Messiah" by orthodox Jews, "the Mahdi"
by some Muslims and even as a "New Christ" by the followers of
the New One
World Religion, as he confirms
the "Holy Covenant"
But halfway through his 7-year reign he will break
the Covenant, invade Israel
and forbid and abolish all traditional religious worship, declaring, "I
am God! Fall down and worship me!" 2Thes.2:3,4
At this time he will place an idol, an image of himself
in the rebuilt Jewish
Temple in Jerusalem, the so-called
"Abomination
of Desolation" Dan.11:31

"[I would know]...
of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other
which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn
that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things,
whose look was more stout than his fellows. Dan.7:20
"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors
are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding
dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be
mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully,
and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty
and the holy people. "And through his policy also he shall cause craft
to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart,
and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against
the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand."
